Katrina charges through life with an energy which has been forged through challenging herself in sports and in the service of others. Originally from Scotland, she is an educator, whose love for foreign cultures and languages opened up a career where she travelled the world to promote British Higher Education before having twins which led her to settle in Switzerland to work in international education in 2014.

She is currently an academic counsellor working with students to help them transition from ISL into the next phase of life. She is chair of the Swiss Group of International School University Counsellors, a mentor to the Gender Equity Society at ISL and actively supports the School of Leadership Afghanistan as well as refugees in Switzerland through EVAM.

"Strong back, soft front and wild heart". Brenée Brown

Rowing is Katrina’s first sport as she practiced it throughout her adolescence on the British team and now competes for Rowing Club Lausanne. Katrina loves exploring the awesome Swiss outdoors by participating in triathlons and all forms of skiing. Through perseverance in sport, Katrina has learnt on that you can achieve anything you want with focus, dedication and collaboration. The resilience, positivity and balance cultivated through sport are integral to Katrina’s zesty approach to life.

BPW Lake Geneva has been a great network and source of support in enabling Katrina to understand gender inequality in Switzerland, particularly the challenges presented to mothers wishing to work full-time. Katrina’s role on the Board is to ensure the club is welcoming to all. She is tasked with proactively diversifying our membership through setting up new networks and enabling access to all who identify as women and/or are tackling issues of gender equity. Gender inequality is everyone’s problem and is particularly acute at the intersections. Let’s solve it together.
